What Is Prostate Cancer? The most common type of cancer in men is prostate cancer. The only way to get a prostate exam is by getting a biopsy. The biopsy is the microscopic image of a tiny lump or mass of fluid inside a man's prostate that contains cancer cells. This is the only way that we can be sure of a diagnosis. Many men think that a lump is a tumor, but these are normal tissues that get cancer when they get damaged. There are two types of cancers that are common in prostate cancer: BPRC, or Big Pecs, and Prostate Tumors. BPRC means Big Pec, a type of tumor that is much more common than the others, and is usually found in men over 50. This type of prostate cancer often has a good prognosis. BPRC tumors are smaller, and are often easily removed. They are usually not cancerous if treated early, which is why it's important to watch your prostate size, and see your doctor regularly. There are two ways to get cancer that are found in the prostate: via a biopsy or a biopsy done in a biopsy machine.
